Our client is a global leader in colour measurement and colour management, offering hardware, software and services for measuring, formulating and matching colour. The company is present on almost all continents and serves industries like automotive, paints, plastics, textiles, printing, packaging, photography, graphic design, video, dental and medical. For its remote development team in the European timezone, we are looking for Senior Backend PHP Developer (remote)

Tasks

- Join a development organisation of approx. 40 engineers across the globe working in the Central European timezone.

- Implement and extend the so-called “Colour Cert” application, a performance/reputation database for printers all over the world. It helps dozens of printer brands to receive regular reports on how their printers are doing in the market.

- Join an existing team of 4 developers (2 Frontend Javascript/React, 2 Backend PHP) and 2 quality assurance specialists (QA). Part of the team lives in Bangalore, others live in Germany.

- Version 2 of the system has been launched and now the next task is to implement the so-called score-card server.

- Collaborate in a self-organised international Scrum team.

- Contribute to the life-cycle management of existing solutions.

Required:

- At least 5 years of experience in PHP and 3 years with Laravel

- Experience with the latest versions of PHP (7+) and the migration of old PHP code

- Solid experience with Redis Cache or similar caching tools

- 5 years of experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL

- Understanding of agile methodologies and particularly TDD

- Strong knowledge of SOLID principles and Design Patterns

- Familiar with OWASP guidelines

- University degree related to Software Engineering

- Team-orientated personality open to challenges

- Good problem-solving skills

- Fluent in English

Will be a plus

- Knowledge of Javascript and React (particularly for frontend implementation)

- Experience with Elastic Search, AWS and network performance tuning
